24 Hr. Power Workshops for Re-Entry
How do men and women envision their journey when they leave? 24 Hr. Power Inc. will map out with artwork their re-entry journey first steps.
The barbed wire is behind the car. Two people are sitting in the car. We discuss this image — first thing: “Who is driving the car?”
The LAST stop on the road is the house with the kids playing outside. That’s because too often clients put too much pressure on themselves and their families to reunite without doing the necessary work first, a recipe for failure.
Many probably haven’t even thought about that yet. But they have to. Here’s where anxiety creeps in.
Draw these emotions, thoughts, feelings on the road.
Artwork to represent their varied day to day re-entry journeys:
- ◆AA / NA Meeting
- ◆Bus Stop
- ◆Church
- ◆Counseling
- ◆Courthouse
- ◆Gym
- ◆Halfway House
- ◆Methadone clinic
- ◆Probation
- ◆RMV Office
- ◆Supervised Visitation
- ◆Workforce Development Office
Giving BACK:
- ◆Raking leaves
- ◆Shoveling snow
- ◆Soup Kitchen Volunteer
Positive Artwork the men and women fill in will help them feel empowered, not fearful, and more open to the advice of the re-entry specialists that will be working with them as their re-entry date approaches.
These positive, helpful visual re-entry guides will be in the hands of hundreds of men and women leaving prison hoping for a brighter future, armed with super powerful information.
24 Hr. Power Inc Healing Hands Workshop
It is excruciatingly painful, losing a loved one due to Opioid-use related causes:
- ◆Overdose
- ◆Suicide
- ◆Homicide
- ◆Accidents
- ◆Medical complications
24 Hr. Power has developed a series of Grief Workshops, this is one of them:
This Workshop is specifically designed for people who have lost these loved ones. Some may have recently lost their loved one, or many years ago.
24 Hr. Power facilitates the Workshop.
Everyone sits in a circle at the front of the room. Participants discuss how they feel about their lives, their loved ones BEFORE they create their hand art. Afterwards, everyone retreats to their own private spaces to create their canvases.
Left Hand / BEFORE the loss. Right Hand / AFTER the loss.
The support, bonds, friendships formed during these Workshops are priceless.
24 Hr. Power Grief Vigils and Projects
(Sponsored by Braintree’s Community Partnership on Substance Abuse)
24 Hr. Power Inc. Master Graffiti Artists will transform areas into spectacular, majestic, peaceful images of wings to honor your loved ones lost to Opioid use disorder.
A comforting place, where you can stand in the center of the expanse of these remarkable wings and be still for a moment with your loved one.
One large pair of wings for adults. One small set of wings for youth. These gorgeous life size butterflies are located at Sunset Lake in Braintree, MA. Butterflies of this magnitude can provide an integral role at Opioid Vigils and throughout the year.
(Sponsored by The Sun Will Rise Foundation, and Holbrook Cares)
24 Hr. Power creates touching canvases for Vigils. We provide multicolor pro markers for loved ones to leave messages for their loved ones.
24 Hr. Power Memorial Portraits. Our Artists create stunning keepsakes of your loved ones. We request a clear photo and we will create a memory that you will treasure forever.

24 Hr. Power Memory Scrap Book for Loved Ones
There is a real need for scrapbooks that help loved ones understand and remember a parent or a sibling who has died, whether from overdose, medical complications from substance use disorder, suicide, accident, illness, murder, military service, while incarcerated, or other circumstances.
24 Hr. Power Inc. has created a workshop for caregivers to create a simple yet powerful scrapbook for the person who has lost their loved one.
The first part of this scrapbook is a gift from you.
The remaining pages are a gift from the recipient to themselves.
It allows space for them to keep building their relationship with their loved one as they grow.
That transforms the scrapbook from a one-time memorial into a companion that can grow with the recipient for years; a living conversation between the intended and their loved one, a safe place for their thoughts and feelings, a reminder that love did not end when their person’s life ended.
That combination — “This is who they were” and “This relationship is still yours” — is what makes 24 Hr. Power’s scrapbook much more powerful than either a memory book or a journal alone.
24 Hr. Power Murals
24 Hr. Power Build & Paint Toys for Youth
(Sponsored by Home Depot Brockton)
24 Hr. Power partners with local Sober Homes, Halfway Houses, and Peer Recovery Centers to build and paint toys for youth that may not receive a gift for the Holidays if not for this initiative.
In addition to at-risk youth, these brothers and sisters in recovery are able to also create gifts for their own children — toys they built with their own loving hands!
24 Hr. Power Beautification Pay It Forward Activities
(Sponsored by Home Depot Avon)
24 Hr. Power Beautification Pay It Forward Activities are awesome ways to give back! Here’s one example: a fence that needed a “Zen facelift” at a local sober house.
What a difference a little artwork can make… serenity can be a few paint brushes away.
You can be part of this. It’s such a great feeling to give back — to see the smiles on our brothers’ and sisters’ faces in recovery when we show up with paint gear, music, ice cold water, and Gatorade, ready to transform their space with them. Have a meeting and have a blast all at the same time!
24 Hr. Power Blankets for the Unhoused
(Sponsored by the City of Brockton)
24 Hr. Power Blankets for the Unhoused are a staple of our service in the Brockton community.
The winter is brutal for our unhoused neighbors in the City of Brockton. Standard-issue blankets are so impersonal.
We take pride considering the cultures represented. 24 Hr. Power makes sure these blankets are super soft and plush. We wash and dry every blanket before creating messages of Hope and Healing to make sure any chemicals released from the material prior to application are gone.
Our friends at Stairway to Recovery helped us with this “Pay it Forward Activity.”
24 Hr. Power Heavy Bags for Half Way Houses / Sober Homes
24 Hr. Power Artists create artwork on heavy bags (or speed bags) for local halfway houses and sober homes who want to use these as anger management / exercise tools.
The heavy bag in this photo was donated specifically for this cause by the family of Justin Ruerbeck (11/18/19 – 12/20/18) who lost his battle with addiction. Leoncello Boxing asked 24 Hr. Power to create artwork for this bag.
24 Hr. Power’s Artist in Recovery from Stairway to Recovery created this awesome artwork, and that is how our journey began.
24 Hr. Power provides inspiring artwork on heavy bags or speed bags for brothers and sisters seeking sobriety.
Everyone who uses the bag posts their sobriety/clean date on the bag with a pro marker in the color of their choice provided by 24 Hr. Power.
This fosters hope, unity, and shows commitment to recovery.
24 Hr. Power Project Keepsake
(Sponsored by Stairway to Recovery)
24 Hr. Power Project Keepsake is extremely important and so easy to do!
We gather scraps of fabric and use pro markers to create small positive messages and artwork on these items. Each keepsake will be stuffed carefully into the pocket of a ski jacket or a backpack. We will know in advance where it is being distributed.
We carefully write the full address, day, and hours of one specific resource in the area for the unhoused person who will receive this. Not everyone has a cell phone. Writing everything down is a Godsend — it saves people from walking all the way to the place only to find it could be closed!
24 Hr. Power Project Keepsake is a wonderful Pay It Forward Activity, and we always need volunteers to help us who can write this information in multiple languages!
24 Hr. Power Veterans Pay It Forward Activities
(Sponsored by the City of Brockton and Stairway to Recovery)
24 Hr. Power Veterans Pay It Forward Activities are essential to thank our neighbors for their service.
The Brockton VA is right here in our neighborhood. Creating meaningful artwork and spending time with these folks is an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure.
Traits of a Hero / Heroine
Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a hero as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.”
Psychologists identified traits of heroes:
- ◆Brave
- ◆Caring
- ◆Charismatic
- ◆Conviction
- ◆Courageous
- ◆Determined
- ◆Helpful
- ◆Honest
- ◆Inspiring
- ◆Moral integrity
- ◆Protecting
- ◆Reliable
- ◆Resilient
- ◆Saves others
- ◆Self-sacrifice
- ◆Selfless
- ◆Strong
- ◆Wise
- ◆When you choose your hero / heroine, refer to these traits. Does he/she have some of these traits?
- ◆If yes, which ones?
- ◆Make sure to mention them when you describe your hero / heroine on your Museum Card.
Refer to this list of traits once again now.
Which ones of these qualities do you see in yourself?
Mention those qualities as you describe yourself on your Museum Card.
At the end of this workshop, your chosen Hero / Heroine’s Portrait and your chosen Hero / Heroine’s Museum Card will go home with you.
Also YOUR Hero / Heroine Museum Card will be part of your life now as well.
Attach YOUR Hero / Heroine Museum Card to a mirror in your home, work, or special place where you will be able to see this refreshing affirmative reminder!
We can all see very clearly the amazing traits in others, yet we tend to be uncomfortable (blocked even) when confronted with recognizing our own.
You get to relax those barriers in our safe space.
Everyone is doing the same thing, with nothing but love, encouragement, and acceptance.
What a freeing, empowering experience!
24 Hr. Power Family Tree Recovery Workshop
Before we ever picked up drugs, there were predispositions why we sought relief with self-medication.
24 Hr. Power’s Family Tree outlines step by step the generational chain that has blocked so many addicts seeking recovery.
This is not designed to cast blame or to leave participants feeling hopeless. This does not give us excuses for our behavior. The opposite — it gives us power!
Each Workshop participant will receive a printout of this drawing of the outlined tree with leaves and roots to fill in. They add names of family members on the leaves and color them, along with a brief description of who they are and what they mean to him/her. Name by name, description by description, their own family picture will become clear.
Every participant will be empowered with new knowledge, awareness, and tools to break their toxic generational chain and rewrite their family history for future generations.
History does NOT need to repeat itself. What an incredible gift!
24 Hr. Power Recovery Journals
It can be intimidating to open a blank journal and try to write something… not as difficult with a poem or a quote you choose written inside on the first page… with unique artwork on the cover.
24 Hr. Power Inc. created a blueprint for journals for people seeking inner peace. We combine art and poetry to open the door to your journal’s journey.
We discuss your vision Journal Journey. Together we create your Journal Artwork Cover / Write Poem / Quote.
YOU determine the focus of your Journal’s Journey:
- ◆Affirmations
- ◆Coping Skills
- ◆Family
- ◆Generational Trauma
- ◆Grief
- ◆Meditation
- ◆One Day At A Time (What Am I Doing to Stay Ok?)
- ◆The Right Path
- ◆12 Step Promises
Journaling with a clear direction reduces stress, improves self-awareness, and in time becomes a welcome emotional release for pent-up feelings.
24 Hr. Power Inc. Recovery Portraits
24 Hr. Power Inc. interviews participants:
- ◆Records interviews
- ◆Chooses unique recovery quotes for portraits
- ◆Photos of participants (head shots required)
- ◆Software paint manipulation
- ◆Obscure facial image portraits / add quotes
- ◆Frames portraits
Once completed / Public Display:
(Peer Recovery Centers, Sober Homes, Treatment Centers, Events, etc.)

24 Hr. Power Affirmation Hopscotch
(Sponsored by DPH Wellness Grant / City of Brockton)
24 Hr. Power is blessed with Master Graffiti Artists in Recovery who have designed one-of-a-kind stencil templates for positive affirmations hopscotch.
- ◆I AM
- ◆LOVED / KIND
- ◆INSPIRED
- ◆RESILIENT / BRAVE
- ◆UNIQUE
- ◆SMART / THANKFUL
- ◆UNSTOPPABLE
(Our Artists can also create Hopscotch Affirmations in Multiple Languages)
24 Hr. Power’s Positive Affirmation Hopscotch reinforces positive self-image thoughts every time kids step on this gorgeous addition to any playground, basketball court, sidewalk, parking lot…
24 Hr. Power Restorative Justice: Bench
The days of class detention for reprimand are over. Circles are also used after an incident that needs remedying. In a post-event circle, those involved will meet with a teacher who acts as the mediator:
- ◆Discuss what happened
- ◆Address the harm, needs, and cause of the conflict
- ◆Determine acceptable outcomes
- ◆Act on the plans of action
Faculty and students collaborate with 24 Hr. Power on creative ways to get the message across and heal the community.
24 Hr. Power’s Bench is a powerful messaging tool with lasting results. Bullying detentions turn into “buddy benches,” etc.
24 Hr. Power Artists work with the youth from start to finish: acquiring the bench, painting, choosing the words. Students in this workshop cannot unlearn this experience. They also plan an introductory video describing the Bench project, produced by a school or local public television audio-visual department, to develop powerful messaging surrounding the purpose of this project.
24 Hr. Power Restroom Stalls Workshop
(Sponsored by The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office)
24 Hr. Power consults first. We talk with the students. What do they envision on their bathroom stall doors? What message? One word for each stall. What image for each message?
We cut canvas to measure outside stall dimensions. Outline and co-create with students the image(s) with message(s) they have chosen.
Canvas Installation — 2 methods: #1: Install canvas directly onto the outside of the bathroom stall. #2: Plexiglas — canvas can be switched out / moved easily to other areas.
24 Hr. Power “Teen in a Hoodie” Workshop
24 Hr. Power Artists collaborate with youth to create the “Teen in a Hoodie” canvas. “Teen in a Hoodie” represents any teenager (not gender specific) who is on the brink of making a very destructive decision (taking drugs, contemplating suicide, peer pressure to have sex, etc.).
Conversation followed by short anonymous questionnaires allow youth to express their feelings and knowledge before and after this project — how they feel, and how they as peers might be able to help.
Open bricks are where teens write positive messages to the “Teen in the Hoodie.”
This canvas becomes a travelling mural for the town/city the youth participants will share with schools, public libraries, police, etc. It is a symbol of the problem AND the solution. The youth learn the right resources and education in their own community.
There is power among us. This is an amazing lesson for our youth and for our community.
24 Hr. Power Vaping Workshop
(Sponsored by Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School)
VAPE THIS (4 REAL) represents a benchmark for further initiatives. Thought-provoking works of art in schools, gymnasiums, restrooms, libraries, and after-school programs… directed campaigns by youth for youth.
“In your face” messaging delivered. Peers will relate and think twice. Students in this workshop cannot unlearn this experience!
Boy Vaping (with smoke cloud full of identified chemicals). Girl Vaping (with smoke cloud full of researched mood disorders).
Students research e-cigarettes:
- ◆Choose graffiti words from fonts on 24 Hr. Power’s computer
- ◆Research chemicals and mood disorders found in e-cigarettes for Vape Clouds
- ◆Research the definitions of the chemicals and the mood disorders
- ◆Learn the dangers of vaping and e-cigs for youth
- ◆Warn youth at their level in an artistic form they appreciate (they LOVE graffiti!)
